Lovespoons

The giving and receiving of lovespoons originated in Wales from about the 17th century. The carved spoon was given as a token of affection and is believed to be an early form of the engagement ring. All spoons were hand carved, with care, and the symbols represented the message a young man wished to convey to his lady.

Today they are given for many other reasons such as weddings, anniversaries, new home or even just to say thank you.
